My friend and I came after an appointment. We parked easily in the front. As we stepped inside we were greeted by a couple of very nice people who I believe were the owners. After learning this was our 1st time we were directed to sit any open table and a server would take our orders. Menus were on the tables. The server took our drink orders. We ordered country fried steak. White gravy for me and brown for my friend. I also had real mashed potatoes. Fried okra and cornbread. Pear cobbler for dessert. She had sweet potato casserole and fried green tomatoes. Key lime cake for dessert and a cheese biscuit. The steak was crispy, juicy, done, hot and delicious. Better than my own. Excellent okra and the fried tomatoes. The pear cobbler was rich and so good. Her cake was great and she loved all of it. We loved Zack's. I love the layout. It was very clean as was the restroom. I've been to many different restaurants. This is a great place for comfort food/home cooking! I highly recommend it. I'll be back.

Great to have Zack’s back in Dothan. Brand new building with the same wonderful family recipes that launched this restaurant decades ago. New to the area or passing through, this is a destination you must stop and eat at. If you want fast food, go somewhere else. If you want great food, see Zack, Diane and there amazing team and feel like part of the family before you leave!

First time since opening new building. No longer have to walk through the line. They now have daily menus and you choose a meat two sides and dessert or you can get 3 sides and no dessert. The food was great I had baby limas creamed corn and hamburger steak with gravy. Definitely go if you are wanting some home cooking.

This was my first time visiting Zach’s Family Restaurant since the reopen. I tried to call in an order since it was already 2 p.m. and they close at 2:30 p.m., but there was no answer. So, I decided to head over and arrived around 2:04 p.m. to place my order in person. I chose the fried pork chop, mashed potatoes, turnip greens, and cornbread. The pork chop was perfectly seasoned with a crispy, golden crust that was full of flavor, while the mashed potatoes were creamy and complemented well by the savory gravy. The turnip greens had just the right amount of seasoning, delivering that authentic Southern taste, and the cornbread was warm and slightly sweet, with a texture that paired wonderfully with the meal. The plate cost 16, which included one meat, two sides, a dessert, and a drink. You also have the option to substitute the dessert for a third side. While the food was undeniably tasty and satisfying, I felt like the price was rather high for a lunchtime meal. The staff was courteous despite the late hour, and I appreciated the welcoming atmosphere. It’s clear that Zach’s takes pride in serving good food and maintaining a friendly environment. Overall, the experience brought back fond memories of the way Southern comfort food should taste. I’ll definitely be back, but next time, I’ll plan to arrive a bit earlier to fully enjoy the experience without feeling rushed.

Absolutely delicious southern food! The baked chicken was so moist, and all the sides were super flavourful. Amanda and Lashanda were very attentive servers and made me feel right at home. Definitely will be back.

Absolutely delicious! I want a 2nd plate just writing this review. Greeted at the door, sit down, and order, so simple, and you don't feel rushed. The food was prompt, and the temperature was great. We've found our new go-to diner!

I had came up here for my cats and had to wait a little to pick them up again. I ate here for lunch at about 11am. I had their Country Fried Steak, Fried Ocra, MacaroniCheese, Cheesecake Squares, and Cornbread. The BEST food I've had in my entire life! The waitresses were extremely respectful and friendly. Though the cornbread was kinda mid, the rest was phenomenal! The people there were amazingly friendly. I couldn't even finish my food it was so filling! The fact only paid 61 for 4 people really surprised me! (About 15/person) I would go here again any time I'm up here in Alabama. It deserves more than 5 stars!
